"Lakeland Trails do good things. They're a Cumbrian company using local businesses wherever possible. They swapped from a dairy to a vegan ice cream vendor (saving emissions in several ways), have reduced bib/timing waste, T-shirt waste (and are planting trees), no water bottles and have incentivised public transport and car-pooling. (which seemed to be actually working 👌).
Plus they simply put on brill events. This one had an 80s theme, so I hoped my faux-hawk counted.
Only had enough speed in my tired old legs for 4th place (1st old git). But that's where I always finish nowadays and fittingly I was also united with my @tordesgeants Fourth Place Trophy (as an Arsenal fan I know the value of that)"
We don't claim to do everything we can be to make our events more sustainable but we're doing our best to make a difference and to keep making small steps. It's great that our efforts are being noticed.
